Training Description

Conflict in the team – should we bury our heads in the sand or prepare for war? Tensions, verbal skirmishes, sideways glances. In every job, there are days when instead of focusing on our duties, we think about how quickly we can leave the office. Conflict is not necessarily bad, as long as we know how to handle it. It can even be a developmental opportunity for both the individual and the organization. Therefore, it is better to resolve it skillfully than to hope it will disappear on its own or that it won't arise at all. This training provides answers to this question, showing how to quickly and skillfully resolve conflicts that arise in the organization. The training is workshop-based. It relies on the training game "Black Inez", case studies from Polish companies, and simulation scenarios. During the training, participants expand their competencies in mediation and negotiation. They learn how to prepare and conduct mediations within the team. They discover how to conduct win-win negotiations. They learn techniques for dealing with strong emotions during conflict. They develop the ability to creatively resolve conflict situations. Participants finish the workshop with a good understanding of conflict dynamics. They possess practical tools for dealing with them. They know which tools to use and in what situations to quickly and effectively resolve conflicts.

  • Sources of conflict - Moore's Circle
  • Differences between positions and interests
  • Module Progress: The workshop will begin with playing the training game Black Inez. Participants will confront a potential conflict of interest situation and see the consequences of their actions. They will learn the differences between positions and interests and how recognizing interests affects resolving conflict situations. They will then solve a case study in which they will identify potential sources of conflict and analyze its dynamics. They will learn about Moore's Conflict Circle concept and the types of conflicts we may encounter. Correctly identifying the type and source allows for choosing the appropriate course of action. Working in subgroups, participants will work through examples from their professional lives involving structural conflicts, data, relationships, values, and interests.
