Description
Under the JSystems brand, we have been operating since 2008, offering training in databases, programming, and operating systems from the very beginning. We bring together specialists with extensive professional experience, enthusiasts of their technologies. We are aware of the dynamic changes occurring in the IT industry, which is why we ensure that our company stays up to date. We continuously improve our program so that the IT courses we conduct reflect the current market situation. Our training takes the form of workshops. Each topic discussed by the trainer is supported by live coding examples. As the trainer writes code, they explain what they are doing and why. After each topic discussed in this way, the trainer leads an exercise aimed at having participants apply the technique.
A comprehensive, 5-day workshop training on SQL adapted for SQL Server. The training starts from the basics, through the most commonly used SQL elements in practice, to advanced topics. The training includes techniques for advanced data analysis, query optimization, full-text search, and much more!
The training is intended for individuals who want to gain solid foundations in working with SQL Server. Ideal for beginner data analysts, programmers, and database administrators. Participants will learn tools such as SQL Management Studio and Dbeaver, how to create queries, filter and sort data, use built-in functions, manage transactions, and analyze execution plans, which will allow them to work effectively with SQL Server databases.
The goal of the training is for participants to acquire the skills necessary for effective work with SQL Server. Participants will learn to create and optimize SQL queries, manage data and transactions, use analytical and ranking functions, and analyze query execution plans. The knowledge gained will enable conscious management of databases, their structure, and performance, which is crucial for the work of analysts, programmers, and administrators.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- create and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server,
- filter, sort, and aggregate data,
- manage transactions and locks,
- perform various types of joins between tables,
- create and use subqueries,
- analyze query execution plans and optimize their performance,
- apply indexes and database normalization,
- manage database objects (tables, views, links),
- work with temporary tables and window functions.
1. Basics of SQL Server – introduction to the database system, environment configuration, tools for work (SQL Management Studio, Dbeaver), first steps with SQL.
2. Sorting and filtering data – principles of organizing data, ORDER BY, DISTINCT clauses, filtering using WHERE, comparison and logical operators.
3. Built-in functions – using SQL functions for operations on strings, numbers, and dates, conditional functions, and data conversion.
4. Data aggregation and grouping – using aggregate functions, grouping data, and filtering aggregation results.
5. Analytical and ranking functions – data analysis techniques, using functions such as ROLLUP, CUBE, GROUPING, GROUPING_ID, and ranking functions.
6. Joins and subqueries – combining data from multiple tables, different types of joins, building subqueries in FROM, WHERE, SELECT clauses.
7. Data manipulation (DML) – inserting, deleting, modifying records, operations on data based on other tables, effectively using the MERGE statement.
8. Managing database structure (DDL) – creating tables and other database objects, modifying and deleting them, database normalization.
9. Indexes and query optimization – using clustered and non-clustered indexes, filtered indexes, analyzing execution plans, Query Plan Cache, and Parameter Sniffing mechanisms.
10. Transactions and locks – safely managing data, commit, rollback, savepoint mechanisms, strategies for avoiding locks and ensuring data integrity.
